I'm sitting up late, messing around on the computer. I bought some patches last year, maybe the year before and I can't remember where I ordered them from. It's Sunday night, almost ten. What the hell?
I open TweetDeck and type:
"Anyone patch the knees on blown out kid's jeans? Need cute patches"
In less time that it takes me to alt-tab back to Amazon, I see I have a mention on Twitter. Clicking back I see it's my old friend @GracieDesigns. She has a suggestion. A couple of minutes later not only do I have a place to look for patches that I hadn't thought of, but I feel lighter, taking a stroll down memory lane to when we used to work together and remembering that I haven't laughed that hard at work since she left.
I know this is no revolutionary moment in social networking and millions of people are experiencing the same thing as I type this, but it doesn't make it any less cool.
Today's prompt: Social Web Moment.
*Dink de dink is what we use to say to each other over email when we were making it look like we were working but were totally goofing off. I can only imagine the hilarity that would have ensued with IM or twitter had we had it back in the day.
