It's early, too early. It's still dark out or maybe the sky is turning a pale shade of in between.
I'm cozy in my light blue, potato sack, fleece pajama nightgown and my three blankets. I'm tired, but I'm always tired.
"HI"
I open my eyes. I only see the closet door and the light my husband left on when he went out to walk the dog. I close my eyes again.
"HI"
I turn my head to the other side and open my eyes. There he is. His hair is standing up in the back and it's curling up on the sides like he's slept in a viking helmet. I smile. I can't help it. He smiles back at me. The biggest, happiest smile that is so dazzling it overshadows well, everything.
I open my arms and he dives in.
